Welcome

Welcome to Primary Tutor Project!

Dear parents,

Thank you for entrusting the Primary Tutor Project with supporting your son or daughter’s learning. We are delighted to have you on board as our latest family!

Choices about your child’s education are very personal and meaningful, so we are grateful for your support. We are a small tutoring business based in the UK, who specialise in providing highly experienced British qualified primary school teachers to students. While only established in 2020, Primary Tutor Project has quickly become a trusted provider of quality online tuition with excellent parent reviews and being shortlisted for national awards, recognised for our bespoke service. We are confident that you will be happy with your decision.

Callie, the founder of Primary Tutor Project, your child’s tutor, and the whole team will always be happy to help you with questions along the way. This pack gives you some more information about what to expect from working with us.
Warm wishes,
Callie
P.S. We provide regular advice and support for parents on our Facebook Page and Instagram. Give us a follow!
First Session

One to One Tuition:

Following our initial telephone consultation, our experienced lead tutor, Callie, will carefully match your child with one of our exceptional tutors. Ensuring both
you, your child and the tutor are content with the match is of the utmost importance to us before embarking on long-term sessions. As a result, we will organise an introductory one-off lesson.

During this engaging session, the tutor will assess your child’s abilities through interactive activities, helping us identify areas where our tuition can support their growth. Additionally, our tutors will establish a positive rapport, fostering happiness and confidence in their online sessions.

The introductory lesson provides an opportunity for you to familiarise yourself with the tutor’s style and determine if they are the perfect fit for your child. After this session, the tutor will provide written feedback via email, discussing their observations and insights. We will then promptly get in touch to address any inquiries you may have and assist you in securing a regular slot for tuition.

Tuition Cubs:

If you choose to enrol your child in our Tuition Clubs, your initial trial will last one month. This allows your child to experience the group dynamic and decide if it aligns with their learning preferences. Then, you can decide if you wish to continue with the regular monthly subscription.

What is it?

TutorCruncher is our online platform for connecting students with the right tutors. Once you have decided you would like to use our services, Primary Tutor Project will set you up with a profile on Tutorcruncher to manage your lessons.

From here, you can see your upcoming lesson calendar, manage payments and see your child’s lesson reports and homework assignments.

A more detailed guide to Tutorcruncher can be found here.

How do I use Tutorcruncher?

How do I see my lessons?
Click on the calendar to see all of your upcoming lessons. Click into the lesson to see further details.

How do I find my child’s homework?
Click on the documents tab to see all the homework and Student Passports that have been created for your child. You can download these by clicking on them.

How do I make a payment for lessons?
See further details on the ‘Making a Payment’ tab above.

How do I cancel a lesson?
For one to one lessons, you must contact your tutor or Primary Tutor Project to cancel any scheduled lesson. Any cancellation made under 24 hours’ notice is subject to full lesson fees. We accept three cancellations per year during school term time, however, after that full fees will apply.

For Club lessons, you will be provided with a recording and tasks from any missed lessons.

Please see our full cancellation policy in the T&Cs here
How to pay?

One to One Tuition:

You will be invoiced monthly for all upcoming scheduled lessons. Around the 26th of each month, we send you a payment request by email. This contains a breakdown of the individual lessons scheduled for the month ahead.

The invoice is due before or on the 1st of the month by 5pm.

If there is a problem with payment, for example paying late, we reserve the right to charge an additional £10 late payment fee for administrative work. Please see the T&Cs document here for the full payment terms and conditions.

We offer two convenient payment methods:

Direct Debit: The most effortless way to make payments is through Direct Debit payments. See further details under the ‘Direct Debit’ tab.

Card Payment: Alternatively, you can choose to make a payment using your card. In the email we send you, you’ll find a secure link to make an instant card payment. See further details under the ‘Card Payment’ tab.

Unused credit
If for whatever reason you have unused credit on your account at the end of the month, this will be deducted from your next month’s bill.

Club Tuition:

After the initial payment has been made through our website, you will be signed up for monthly direct debits of a fixed fee, of either £90 or £125 depending on your subscription level. This is automatically taken from your account on the 27th of each month. This is charged from September – July. August is not charged.

Direct Debit

The easiest way to make a payment is by setting up a direct debit when you join Primary Tutor Project.

Upon signing up with Primary Tutor Project, you’ll receive an email requesting your authorisation for Direct Debit. Once authorised, payments will be automatically deducted from your account on the 1st of each month (or the last working day before). These transactions will show as ‘Go Cardless’ on your bank statements.

Card Payment

You can manually make the payment each month by following the ‘Make Payment’ link, which is on the email containing your invoice.
