Primary Tutor Project is an online tutoring service, which specialises in teaching children aged 5-12 years old in a range of subjects including English, Maths and Science. We are a team of qualified primary school teachers from the UK, who found our passion in providing engaging, personalised education outside of the traditional classroom.
– Callie Moir, PGCE
Having spent time travelling and teaching abroad in my early twenties, I found my calling in a bustling, inner-city London school, where I had the privilege of teaching some incredible children. I adored teaching, however, there was always a nagging feeling that something wasn’t quite right. The huge class sizes meant some children weren’t receiving the support they needed to thrive. I knew I had to find a way to bridge this gap, to make a real difference in the lives of these young minds.
In 2019, seeking new adventures and an exciting teaching opportunity, I embarked on a journey to Japan. Everything seemed to be falling into place until an unforeseen storm (COVID-19), forced me to return home. It was a challenging time for everyone. Schools closed their doors, families struggled through homeschooling, and an alarming achievement gap opened in education.
Determined to make a positive impact, I turned to online tutoring to support families in their homeschooling endeavours. Word quickly spread, and before I knew it, my days were filled with teaching. The ability to provide personalised education, tailored to each child’s unique needs, was an epiphany. I saw the incredible progress they made and witnessed their confidence soar. I knew then that I had to build something that would empower children far beyond the confines of a classroom.
And so, Primary Tutor Project was born.
Today, Primary Tutor Project is a thriving community of twelve passionate and qualified teachers from the UK, each sharing my unwavering commitment to lifting children up through positive encouragement. We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential, academically and emotionally.
But our mission extends beyond the boundaries of a business. We are driven by a deep-rooted belief in equal access to education for all. That’s why we created the tutee-to-tutee fund, ensuring that children from disadvantaged backgrounds can benefit from our services. Through this initiative, 5% of our full-paying clients’ fees are dedicated to providing tuition to those who need it most. It’s a small step that has already made a significant impact, as we now regularly tutor nine pupils a week through this scheme.
If you’re a parent seeking support for your child’s educational journey or a teacher longing to be part of something truly special, I extend a warm welcome to you. At Primary Tutor Project, we are not just tutors; we are mentors, advocates, and champions for every child’s potential.
Join us on this extraordinary adventure. I can’t wait to support you and witness the incredible transformations that await.
