Last half term in our Writers Clubs, our young
journalists-in-training embarked on an exciting journey of discovery and
creativity! The students, including the talented Laura (Year 5, Lithuania) and
Shranit (Year 5, UK), showcased incredible enthusiasm and hard work as they
dived into the world of news reporting. Check out their news article
below!
Throughout the term, our budding writers explored the art of
journalism by:
Analysing
examples of news articles to understand structure, style, and tone.
Investigating
the topic of climate change and protest, a timely and powerful subject.
Taking
on roles as journalists and witnesses to conduct interviews and gather key
details for their articles.
It was amazing to see the students’ dedication to crafting
compelling stories and their ability to bring their articles to life with
creativity and critical thinking. Laura and Shranit stood out for their
thoughtful questions, vivid storytelling, and clear passion for the topic.
However, I’m proud of all our Writers Club students for their hard work
and growth in these engaging kids journalism activities!
If you’d like your child to join this fantastic club, we
have spaces available in our Writers Clubs:
For children in Asia: Thursdays, 6–7pm (HK time). For children in the UK: Thursdays, 5:30–6:30pm (UK time).
Our Writers Clubs are the perfect opportunity for young
learners to develop essential writing skills, build confidence, and let their
creativity shine!
