Prepare for Your Lesson with Lessonspace

To help ensure a seamless online learning experience with our virtual classroom please follow the below guide.

Test Your Setup

Before your scheduled lesson, we highly recommend you use our open demo link to test your browser, microphone, and speakers. This will help ensure everything is working perfectly on the day of your lesson! Click on the link below and click on the camera / video icon on the right hand side control panel to set up your microphone and camera.

Top Tips for a Seamless Lesson

Browser & Device Recommendations

For the best experience, please use these browsers:

  • On a computer or Android device: Use Google Chrome (version 115+)
  • On an iPad or iOS device: Use Safari (version 16+)
  • Note: Screen sharing is not supported on iOS devices.

Optimise Your Internet Connection

  • Minimum speeds: Ensure you have at least 5 Mb/s download and 3 Mb/s upload.
  • Go wired: Use a wired Ethernet connection for maximum stability.
  • Reduce strain: Close any unnecessary tabs, streaming services, or other video call applications.
  • Move closer: If using Wi-Fi, try to be as close to your router as possible.

In-Lesson Best Practices

  • Check devices: Always check your microphone and speaker settings within the Lessonspace classroom to ensure the correct devices are selected. Use the demo link above to do this.
  • Hardware acceleration: For smoother video and background effects, enable hardware acceleration in your browser.
  • Consider CoBrowser: If you experience screen-sharing delays, try using the CoBrowser feature to share content like Google Slides or websites.

What If Issues Persist?

  • Reload and rejoin: Reload the page and join the Space again.
  • Try another device: If possible, test the lesson link on a different device.
  • Report the issue: If the problem continues, use the "Report an issue" function inside the classroom to send a detailed report to the Lessonspace support team and also please report the issue to the Primary Tutor Project team.
  • If you are facing audio issues we would recommend double-checking that an external mute (on the laptop) was not accidentally enabled - this is often the case when audio suddenly disappears in a session.
