No, online
Maths or English tutor jobs do not require OFSTED registration in the UK.
OFSTED regulates schools and registered childcare settings, not independent
tutors working one-to-one or online. This makes it easier to get your first job as a tutor, but it does also mean there's more competition.
Some tutoring companies or learning centres may fall under
inspection if they meet certain criteria, but individual private tutors are not
required to register. For parents, this means quality is judged through
experience, references, qualifications, and safeguarding practices rather than
OFSTED status.
