Before your child’s first session, here’s what you need to know:
Our sessions are interactive, engaging, and tailored to your child’s needs. Your tutor will guide them step by step to ensure lessons are enjoyable and effective. To get the most out of each session, your child will need:
TutorCruncher is our online parent portal where you can track lesson schedules, payments, and reports. We’ll book the lessons for you, and they’ll appear in your account.
All lessons take place on Zoom, Google Meet, or ClassIn. You’ll receive a link for your child’s lessons—please check it before the session and do a test meeting to familiarise your child with the platform.

Our small-group tuition clubs are designed to be engaging, structured, and supportive. We begin with a one-month trial to ensure the club is the right fit for your child before continuing with a monthly subscription.
- Weekly, term-time sessions from September – July
- Our tuition clubs follow the UK National Curriculum
- Each child receives printable workbooks to use in lessons and for homework
Some sessions include optional tasks to reinforce learning
To allow time for marking, please submit homework at least 24 hours before the next session
Tutors provide verbal feedback on homework during lessons, if needed
- Parents receive lesson reports by email within 24 hours of the class taking place
Each Tuition Club has a WhatsApp group for direct communication with the tutor
Our bespoke 1:1 tuition is completely tailored to your child’s needs and goals. We begin with a one-off trial lesson to match your child with the right tutor based on their learning style and availability. After this, we’ll work together to establish a regular term-time schedule that provides consistency and ensures steady progress.
We have found that maintaining a consistent routine throughout the school year yields the best results. However, we also offer flexible holiday sessions, which are entirely optional.
- Weekly term-time lessons at your chosen time
- Tailored session length – shorter lessons for younger students, longer or multiple sessions for those needing extra support
- Optional holiday sessions for additional learning
- If you opt in for homework, your tutor will assign tasks after the session
- Homework can be accessed and submitted via the WhatsApp group
- To allow time for marking, please submit homework at least 24 hours before the next session
- Tutors provide verbal feedback on homework during lessons, if needed
- Parents receive lesson reports by email within 24 hours of the class taking place
A WhatsApp group will be set up for you, any supervising adults, and your tutor for easy communication

How to log in, track lessons, view reports, and manage payments
TutorCruncher is our online parent portal designed to help you easily manage your child’s tuition. Once you’ve enrolled, Primary Tutor Project will set up your TutorCruncher profile, where you can:
Here are some commonly asked questions below:
Click on the ‘calendar’ to view all your upcoming lessons. Click on a specific lesson to see more details.
Homework instructions will be sent to you in the lesson report after each class. If any resources are needed, they will be shared via WhatsApp or stored in the ‘Documents’ tab on TutorCruncher.
After each class, our tutors send written feedback, which will be emailed to you within 24 hours. To view past reports, click on the Lesson Reports section in TutorCruncher. You can also download them in bulk if you need to share them with your child’s schoolteacher.
When it’s time to pay for lessons, you’ll receive an email with a payment request. We accept online card payments or direct debit for UK families. For more information about payments, please visit the ‘Payments and Billing’ tab.
For one-to-one lessons, you must contact your tutor or Primary Tutor Project to cancel any scheduled lesson. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice are subject to full lesson fees. You are allowed three cancellations per year during term time; after that, full fees will apply.
For Tuition Clubs, if your child cannot attend a class, we will provide a lesson recording and instructions to help them catch up at a later time. Tuition Club fees are non-refundable.
For more information about cancellations, please visit the ‘Lesson Changes & Cancellations’ tab above.

Next Steps: Choose an option below to learn more about your tuition service payment:
Once the initial payment is made through our website, you will be enrolled in monthly direct debits for a fixed fee of either £90 or £125, depending on your subscription level.
The fee will be automatically charged on the 27th of each month, from September to July. There is no charge in August.
Lessons are billed monthly for the upcoming month. You will receive the invoice by email around the 27th of each month, giving you time to confirm the lessons. The invoice is due by the last day of the month to secure the lessons.
You can choose to pay in one of two ways:
- Direct Debit: The easiest payment option is to set up a direct debit when you join Primary Tutor Project. After signing up, you’ll receive an email to authorise the direct debit. Once authorised, payments will be automatically deducted from your account on the 1st of each month (or the last working day before). These transactions will appear as ‘GoCardless’ on your bank statement.
- Debit/Credit Card: Payments can be made instantly using the link in the invoice email, or you can save your card details on TutorCruncher for automatic processing. We accept most international cards, but not American Express.
If you have any unused credit at the end of the month, it will be applied as a deduction to your next month’s bill.
