How Our Tuition Service Works

Before your child’s first session, here’s what you need to know:

Prepare Your Child for Lessons

Our sessions are interactive, engaging, and tailored to your child’s needs. Your tutor will guide them step by step to ensure lessons are enjoyable and effective. To get the most out of each session, your child will need:

A stable internet connection
A laptop or tablet with a camera and microphone
A quiet space to focus
A notebook and pen/pencil for any written work
Log in to the Parent Portal (TutorCruncher)

TutorCruncher is our online parent portal where you can track lesson schedules, payments, and reports. We’ll book the lessons for you, and they’ll appear in your account.

How to Access: A link to set your password is included in your Welcome Email. If you haven’t received it, check your spam folder or contact us.
Check Your Lesson Link

All lessons take place on Zoom, Google Meet, or ClassIn. You’ll receive a link for your child’s lessons—please check it before the session and do a test meeting to familiarise your child with the platform.

Accepted Payment Methods: We accept online card payments from any country and direct debit payments for UK families.

Tuition Club Payments

Once the initial payment is made through our website, you will be enrolled in monthly direct debits for a fixed fee of either £90 or £125, depending on your subscription level.

The fee will be automatically charged on the 27th of each month, from September to July. There is no charge in August.

1:1 Tuition Payments

Lessons are billed monthly for the upcoming month. You will receive the invoice by email around the 27th of each month, giving you time to confirm the lessons. The invoice is due by the last day of the month to secure the lessons.

You can choose to pay in one of two ways:

  1. Direct Debit: The easiest payment option is to set up a direct debit when you join Primary Tutor Project. After signing up, you’ll receive an email to authorise the direct debit. Once authorised, payments will be automatically deducted from your account on the 1st of each month (or the last working day before). These transactions will appear as ‘GoCardless’ on your bank statement.
  2. Debit/Credit Card: Payments can be made instantly using the link in the invoice email, or you can save your card details on TutorCruncher for automatic processing. We accept most international cards, but not American Express.
Unused Lesson Credit

If you have any unused credit at the end of the month, it will be applied as a deduction to your next month’s bill.

Tuition Club Changes and Cancellations

Cancellations and Late Arrivals: If your child cannot attend a session, please notify your tutor. We will record the session so your child can catch up when they’re able. Tuition club fees are non-refundable.

Ceasing Tuition: If you decide your child no longer needs support from the tuition clubs, we require a minimum of one full calendar months’ notice. For example, if you give notice on March 15th, tuition must be paid through to April 30th.
