I am an enthusiastic and fully qualified primary school teacher and tutor. I have extensive experience across the KS1 and KS2 curriculum, both in person and online. I have successfully tutored numerous children for a variety of entrance exams, including SATs, ISEB, CEM, GL, CAT4, and SET, preparing them for entry into prestigious grammar and independent schools such as Latymer Upper, St Paul’s, Bancroft, Bexley Grammar, Highgate, St Albans Boys and Habadashers. My specialisations include tutoring in Maths, English (including creative writing), Non-Verbal Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, and Science.
I have experience supporting children with Additional Support Needs (ASN), tailoring lessons to individual learning styles and ensuring that activities are accessible, engaging, and achievable. I have worked within alternative provision settings, where I developed strategies to re-engage learners who may have experienced barriers in mainstream education, focusing on building confidence and positive learning experiences. My approach emphasises patience, creativity, and consistency, enabling me to support pupils with a wide range of needs, including behavioural, social, and emotional challenges.
I strongly believe in promoting a growth and mastery-focused mindset in my students. Children are naturally motivated to excel in subjects they enjoy and in which they feel confident. These principles are central to my teaching practice. I strive to create engaging, enjoyable lessons that foster motivation and independent learning. I create lessons that are tailored to each child's educational goals.
Building strong, positive relationships with my pupils is crucial for effective learning. I make it a priority to understand my students' interests to design activities that engage and motivate them. Additionally, I collaborate with parents, keeping them informed of their child's progress and exploring ways they can support their child's educational journey.
