Hi, I'm Kat!
After completing my A-Levels in Psychology, Music Technology, and Media Studies, I went on to study at the University of the West of England, in Bristol. I graduated in 2005 with first-class honours in Teacher Education (BA Hons), qualifying as a primary teacher.
After teaching in the UK, I spent time working in primary schools in New Zealand and Malawi, where I developed a deeper understanding and appreciation of different learning styles and teaching methods. While in New Zealand, I taught using the world-renowned Te Whāriki curriculum, which shaped my belief in a holistic approach to education - one that celebrates diversity and nurtures each child’s unique needs and potential.
Since returning to the UK, I’ve continued to thrive in teaching, being recognised on several occasions as an outstanding practitioner. I have also contributed to curriculum development, particularly in English, by monitoring teaching standards and leading training to ensure excellent practice across the school. My experience as both a staff and parent governor has given me valuable insight into the wider education system.
I’m passionate about helping children grasp tricky concepts and watching their confidence grow as they discover new things. For me, there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing a child’s enthusiasm for learning shine through!
