I am passionate about Education - I love to help children learn. Using all my past experience in many different learning environments, I can create a successful and enjoyable learning relationship with students.
My PGCE was in ‘Middle School’ - Key stage 2/3 in 2004 and I have worked as a supply and permanent teacher in both Primary and Secondary settings. From my work as a Transition Teacher later on in my school experience, I gained an even clearer understanding of the differences between Primary and Secondary and of children’s academic and emotional needs in the two settings.
I lived in Peru for six years where I learnt to speak Spanish fluently. I then brought up my own children to be bilingual. Whilst in Peru, I taught both children and adults and also created my own educational setting for Early Years and Key Stage 1; this was to fit with the educational needs of my son at the time.
My wealth of experience in different roles, along with the many professional development courses I have completed, has given me the confidence to be able to work in a variety of settings and to cover a wide range of subjects without a problem.
