Hi, I'm Rachel!
I'm a teacher, tutor and GCSE Maths examiner.

I taught in primary schools for about 20 years where I was Maths Lead and Key Stage 1 Lead alongside my normal teaching role.

Now, I'm a tutor who loves choosing what I teach (to a point!) and how I teach it. Maths is my favourite subject so that's what I try to focus on as well as phonics.

I have always loved getting to know the children I teach, having fun with them while they learn, and making them feel safe to make mistakes rather than shy away from something new. I love to play games and have found that most things can be made into one.
I find that children come to me lacking in confidence but it isn't long until they're asking to play a certain game or saying the time has flown by!
